The development of a new generation of low power processing chips has given rise to a revolution in the availability of computer hardware suitable for use in a meat plant environment. This has allowed specialist software providers to emerge and enabled meat processing groups to realise that purchasing both hardware and software from the same supplier is no longer a necessity.

Emydex Technology were announced winners of the 2010 Innovation in IT award at the D15 Chamber of Commerce black-tie awards ceremony held in the Castleknock Hotel & Country Club in October.

Emydex technology recently exhibited its iWAMS production management software running on various hardware devices at the Foodex trade show which took place over 4 days at the NEC Birmingham, England.

Emydex used Foodex 2010 as a platform to launch and showcase three new exciting additional modules to the platform’s software suite that are:

• Recipe System
• Web-based (Thin) Client
