Hybrid Tester and Application Support Technician - New Zealand

The Candidate

The perfect candidate will assist our implementation team on a 5-year rollout plan for a Tier 1 customer in New Zealand. The requirements of this role will vary depending on the different phases of the implementation plan.

Skills & Experience

The Helpdesk Support Technician should have all the following skills and experience:

1. Required Skills:

  • Two years experience in either Testing or Application Support
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent communication, literacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen to end user’s needs and provide innovative and proficient reporting solutions
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with our customers and employees
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities

2. Desired Skills

  • Test design and execution skills
  • Experience with Test management, Test execution tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with system and UAT testing
  • Non-Function testing
  • Test Automation
  • UI/UX Testing
  • Testing in a client/server architecture
  • Scripting
  • Working Knowledge of .Net development in C# & SQL
  • Knowledge of Food Processing Industries would be advantageous
  • ERP System experience in SAP, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Infor, or others
  • Reporting experience in Excel, SQL SSR

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys juggling various tasks as it will require moving between testing, support, report writing, and potentially other business areas as projects progress..

Duties & Responsibilities

**Time within each role will vary depending on the implementation phase**

1. Tester Responsibilities

  • Creation of test strategy and test plans
  • Execution and reporting of manual test plans
  • Reporting to Project Managers on test status
  • Working closely with developers to identify and mitigate risk
  • Identification and enforcement of quality gates
  • Continuous improvement of Emydex's testing approach

2. Application Support Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers via telephone, e-mail, and the web, providing technical support and problem-solving abilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise customer's problems while formulating plans of resolution
  • Assist in identifying resolution gaps at the helpdesk and author knowledge base submissions accordingly
  • >Provide in-depth root cause analysis to the helpdesk manager for all issues resolved
  • Assist in evaluating new services, processes, and technologies introduced at the helpdesk
  • >Escalate unresolved issues to implementation team programmers or the helpdesk manager as necessary
  • Work with staff to promote, develop and maintain strong customer service values
  • Additional projects as required, such as preparing system and user documentation testing

3. Report Writing Responsibilities

  • Creating queries, views, and stored procedures for reporting purposes
  • Reporting the design and structure
  • Calculate Trailing 12 Month Averages, Margin, Gross Margin, and inventory turns a plus
  • Prepare Business Reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Ability to work with many different departments, accounting, engineering, sales, marketing, warehousing, and executives for reporting needs
  • Interpret and evaluate data to develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Interact with end-users to provide and process innovative reporting solutions
  • Identify and escalate priority issues
  • Redirect problems to appropriate resources
